3D PRINTING
From IDEAS to REALITY
Introduction to 3D Printing Technologies
There are several different technologies in 3D printing, including the use of materials such as plastic, resin, or metal. The technology employed could involve layer-by-layer deposition or sintering. Regardless of the specific method, all 3D printing falls under the category of Additive Manufacturing, which contrasts with traditional Subtractive Manufacturing methods like milling or turning.
The Need for a Digital 3D Model
Unlike subtractive processes, 3D printing requires a different approach. To produce a 3D-printed object, the machine needs a digital 3D model in a specific format such as STL or OBJ. At DSC Lab, we can convert nearly any CAD format into STL, ensuring your model is ready for 3D printing.
Reverse Engineering and 3D Modeling Services
If you don't have a digital model, we can assist by digitizing your physical model through Reverse Engineering. Alternatively, if your design exists only on paper—even a simple napkin sketch—we can create a digital design using our 3D Modeling services. We will then export the file in a format compatible with 3D printers, making it ready for production.
Our 3D Printing Capabilities
At DSC Lab, we boast over 50 printers utilizing various technologies, including FDM, SLS, SLA, LCD, and DLP. We also offer a wide range of materials such as PLA, ABS, PA10, PA12, and more to meet diverse project needs.
